Charles Buddy Rickman Sr. age 82 of Hillsboro passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born February 24, 1930 in Hillsboro, Ohio the son of the late Ralph and Nancy Day Rickman. Mr. Rickman had retired after several years of service as a medical assistant for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Chillicothe where he had received a twenty -five years of service pin in October 1976. He was a 1948 graduate of Hillsboro High School, had attended Wilbur Force University, was a member of the Wayman's Chapel A.M.E. Churchand was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by five children, Charles (Tena) Rickman Jr. of Hillsboro, Stephen Rickman Sr. of Dayton, Carolyn (Eric) Jackson of Dayton, Ralph (Cynthia) Rickman of Hillsboro, Denise (Lester Jr.) Sanders of Washington C.H., twelve grandchildren, Stacey Rickman, Yolanda Rickman, Richard Rickman, Eureka (Kenny) Tyree, Stephen Rickman Jr., Tracey (Henry) Barwick, Lemarrla Henry, Jonas Henry, Winter (Steve) Roberts, Cheyenne Rickman, Michaela Sanders, twenty two great grandchildren, one sister, Betty Jane Tinney of Cincinnati, three brothers-in-law, Daniel (Linda) Zimmerman Sr. of Hillsboro, Ronald Rockhold Sr. of Hillsboro, Merle Hudson of Wilmington, two sisters-in-law, Zella Mae Cumberland of Hillsboro, Joann Zimmerman of Hillsboro, three special friends, Raymond Burns of Hillsboro, Ron Caudill of Dayton, Rev. Timothy Booker of Cincinnati and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Zimmerman Rickman on August 10, 2007, they had been married on May 15, 1951, one grandson, Brian L. Henry, one great grandson, Damarr Anderson, two brothers, David N. Rickman, Richard E. Rickman and one sister, Dorothy Scoville. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 15th at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Rev. Timothy Booker and Rev. Michele Godhigh will officiate. Military honors will be presented by the Highland County Honor Guard. Friends may call on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
