William L. Morgan age 77 of Hillsboro passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, November 22, 2012 at his home. He was born September 3, 1935 in Waynesville, Ohio the son of the late Charles Henry and China Mae Lamb Morgan. Mr. Morgan was a lifetime farmer and a member of the House of Deliverance. He was a devoted husband, dad, and papaw. He celebrated life daily and was a blessing to everyone he met. Family and traditions were an important part of William's life. He was the center of the family's life. William knew how to make each family member feel special and that they were his favorite.
He was a farmer at heart, known far and wide for his goat trading. When you met William, you became a friend for life, never knew a stranger always offered a smile. William's love of God exuberated from him and he witnessed the love of Jesus to all that came into his life. He was a prayer warrior and many called him for prayer and guidance. When William became ill and spent many days in the hospital and then at home in hospice care he continued to witness to those he met.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Gullette Morgan whom he had married on August 28, 1990 in Richmond, Kentucky, four daughters, Deborrah Morgan of Wilmington, Winifred (Clifford) Jeffery of Hillsboro, Robin (Ed) Crone of Wilmington, Sarah China Morgan of Wilmington, two step-daughters, Sheila (Bruce) Lamb of New Vienna, Sharon (Lannie) Amburgy of Middletown, one step-son, Wendell (Brenda) Hymer of Seaman, sixteen grandchildren, Beth (Phillip) Francis of Mt. Orab, James Ray of New Vienna, Felicia Dawn (Kris) Hedrick of Hillsboro, Clifford (Christy) Jeffery of Erlanger, Kentucky, Tammy (Richard) Garcia of Hillsboro, William Leon III (Angela) Morgan of Alabama, Rebekah Long of Wilmington, Chrissy Jeffery of Hillsboro, Rachel (Steve) Persson of Wilmington, Alexandria Morgan of Wilmington, Zacharie Morgan of Wilmington, Brandon Amburgy of Middletown, Chad Amburgy of Middletown, Clinton, Hymer of Richmond Kentucky, Angelina (Matthew) Kirk of Seaman, Shawnell (Chuck) Miller of Seaman, twenty-nine great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, one sister, Junith Alexander of Waynesville, three brothers, Charles (Alberta) Morgan of Waynesville, Raymond (Juanita) Morgan of Hillsboro, Glendon Morgan of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27th at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ. Noah Lamb will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olive Church of Christ. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
